21/05/2025: Senior Football Championship The draw for the 2025 Senior Football Championship took place last evening. The competition will feature three groups of four teams, with the 2024 semi-finalists—Eire Óg (the defending champions), Kilmurry Ibrickane, Cratloe, and Ennistymon—being seeded.
Kildysart has been placed in Group 1 alongside Eire Óg, Cratloe, and Doora Barefield, with their opening match set against the Parish on the weekend of 19/20 July. Round two takes place over the August bank holiday weekend v Cratloe, and the last round finishes off v the titleholders Eire Og on 16/17 August.
Quarter-Final Structure: The top two teams from Groups 2 and 3, along with the top three from Group 1 (due to two seeded teams in that group), will qualify for the quarter-finals.
A playoff between the third-placed teams from Groups 2 and 3 will decide the final spot in the quarter-finals. The quarter-final pairings will be seeded, with the three group winners automatically placed and one second-place team (drawn at random). There will be no repeat matchups.
Relegation Playoff: The bottom team in each group will enter the relegation playoff. The first two teams drawn will face off, with the winner retaining senior status. The losing team will then play the third-placed team, and the loser of that match will be relegated to Intermediate status for 2026.
